Pre-Register Brownies for Girl Scout Day at Old Sturbridge Village Day on March 28

Old Sturbridge Village is hosting a Girl Scout Day on Saturday, March 28. Registration began online on Monday, by yesterday half the badge, try-it programs and workshops were already sold out.
Although we sent a notice home with all the Brownies at the last meeting, we are strongly encouraging any Brownie who wishes to attend to pre-register ASAP so the event and all the programs do not sell out. We wouldn't be surprised if the entire event is not sold out by school vacation break.
Every Brownie registered will receive an OSV participation patch for the back of their vest.
This once-a-year Old Sturbridge Village event is designed for all Girl Scouts who are interested in learning more about early 19th-century American history. Inspired by Women's History Month, this event will explore the everyday lives of New England girls and women through demonstrations and performances.
The cost to attend is $7 per Brownie and $7 per parent.
Siblings (and other family members) may attend at the same rate, but pre-registration is required!
Siblings can only attend age-appropriate workshops if they are pre-registered as well!
Most workshops and Try-it badge workshops for Brownies are an additional $3 per person. There is no fee for a parent or chaperone to watch a badge or fun workshop.
A list of all the workshops is provided below as well as the link to register your child. A credit card is required.
PLEASE keep in mind when registering the age of your daughter -- some activities are for children ages 5-7 and some for children age 8-9 and others for age 10+.
OSV is NOT issue refunds if you register for the wrong class.
***
This is NOT a drop off and pick up event.
Leader Susan Petroni is attending with Bella. (Other leaders may also be attending and we will update you with their status).
FYI -- I signed Bella up today for the afternoon Brownie Studio Workshop to earn the Wave the Flag Try-It badge.
If you register your daughter please e-mail Susan at spetroni@rcn.com.
Perhaps we could schedule a short troop activity at OSV on that Saturday, based on everyone schedules.

Brownies Finish Their Time Capsules for All in the Family Try-It

Today, the Brownies finished their Time Capsule project, which they started in December. The Time Capsule was the last of the four requirements the girls needed to complete to earn the All in the Family Try-It..

.
Also during today's meeting, after Tovah read the Girl Scout Promise and Bella read the Girl Scout Law, we talked about cookie sales.
If every girl in the Troop sells 12 boxes of cookies, the Troop will earn a Troop scrapbook.
Friday, Jan. 16 is the last day for individual cookie sales.
We also talked to the girls about our plans to hold one or two cookie booth sales either this or next month. The money earned will help defray the cost of the Museum of Science event in June and help the girls earn additional prizes/incentives for cookie sales.
Reminder: Parents: all cookie order forms are due to tri-leader Shawn no later than Sunday, Jan. 18. Any questions please call or e-mail her.
At the end of the meeting, after clean-up, the girls participated in the Friendship Circle. That Brownie Squeeze and Girl Scout Out activity is one of the Troop's favorites.
