Boston Ballet To Offer Workshops for Brownie Troops

Boston Ballet School will run three workshops in partnership with Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Council.
Its faculty will present a lively, interactive overview of the dance world and the
history of dance, training, choreography and equipment.
Each workshop will feature a behind-the-scenes look at a Boston Ballet production.
The presentation will include real costumes and footwear from the costume shop, and photos
and videos to bring ballet to life.
Lecturers will intersperse factual info with entertaining anecdotes from their own performing careers. The girls will be taught a few steps to music so they can experience the fun of dancing together.

The workshops planned are:
* October 18, 10:00-11:30am, focus on Cinderella (performance (at an extra cost) 2 p.m. at Citi Wang Theater)
* December 13, 10:00-11:30am, focus on The Nutcracker (performance at an extra cost is at 1 p.m. at Opera House)
* April 25, 10:00-11:30am, focus on Sleeping Beauty (performance at an extra cost is at 2 p.m. at CitiCenter)
Workshops are at the Boston Ballet, 19 Clarendon St, Boston
The cost is $11 per person for workshop ticket.
Performance ticket is not included.
BUT the Boston Ballet is offering savings of up to 50% on tickets to performances following workshops. To purchase tickets, call 617 456 6343.

If you think your daughter is interested in attending a workshop, please contact one of the troop leaders via e-mail.

The troop leaders are in the process of planning out try-its and other projects for the girls to work on this year. This year, the troop will vote on the two try-it badges they most want to complete. It is a part of the leadership aspect of Brownies.
