SONGS FOR THE MENORAH LIGHTING

Nun Gimmel Hay Shin

Nun Gimmel Hay Shin
Watch the dreidel spin, spin, spin
Nun Gimmel Hay Shin
Watch the dreidel spin, spin, spin ( x3 faster after each verse)
And sing along the dreidel song with me.

On This Night

On this night, let us light three little candle fire
Oh so bright, what a sight,
Three little candle fire

O Hanukkah

Oh Hanukkah, oh Hanukkah, come light the Menorah,
Let’s have a party, we’ll all dance the hora.
Gather round the table, we’ll give you a treat.
Sevivon to play with, Latkes to eat.
And while we are playing,
The candles are burning low.
One for each night, they shed a sweet light,
To remind us of days long ago;
One for each night, they shed a sweet light,
To remind us of days long ago;

Dreidel

I have a little dreidel
I made it out of clay
And when it’s dry and ready
Then dreidel I shall play.

Chorus:
Dreidel, dreidel, dreidel
I made it out of clay,
Dreidel, dreidel, dreidel
Then dreidel I shall play.

It has a lovely body,
With legs so short and thin,
And when it is all tired
It drops and then I win.

(chorus)

Dreidel, dreidel, dreidel
With legs so short and thin,
Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel
It drops and then I win.

(chorus)

My dreidel’s always playful,
It loves to dance and spin
A happy game of dreidel
Come play, now let’s begin.

Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel
It loves to dance and spin
Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel
Come play, now let’s begin.

This Little Light

This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

All around the town, I’m gonna let it shine,
All around the town, I’m gonna let it shine,
All around the town, I’m gonna let it shine,
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

Everywhere that I may go, I’m gonna let it shine,
Everywhere that I may go, I’m gonna let it shine,
Everywhere that I may go, I’m gonna let it shine,
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

Ain’t nobody going to blow it out, I’m gonna let it shine,
Ain’t nobody going to blow it out, I’m gonna let it shine,
Ain’t nobody going to blow it out, I’m gonna let it shine,
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
(to finish repeat the first verse)
