Brownie 2082 & Camping Experience Thoughts

Framingham Girl Scouts are organizing a town-wide encampment at Camp Cedar Hill in Waltham in September 19-21. The girls would check in at 5 p.m. on Friday night and check out at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
There was a cap on the number of adults, beyond the three leaders of troop 2082, who could have attended.
For that reason, we have opted NOT to be a part of encampment in September.
(Deadline to register the troop is Sunday, June 1)

Part of our decision comes from the worry that some of the girls would not be comfortable sleeping so FAR from home without a parent.

We are considering an overnight (camp-type experience indoors) at one of the museums (Museum of Science/Aquarium/etc) sometime during the 2008-2009 year BUT
perhaps even before that we would love to try a sleepover at one of the Brownie's homes.
If any parent is willing to offer up their home, please e-mail one of us.

We feel that a sleepover in a LOCAL location, close to home, would be best for the Brownies.

The museum locations, although a bit pricey, do allow for moms & daughters to attend, and are a great experience before heading to a location with little amenities and far few parents allowed.
After those two events, the girls might be okay for a one-night camp out, in a heated cabin, at a girl scout camp site in the spring.

If you have any other questions, concerns, or thoughts, please don't hesitate to e-mail one of us.
